Roster Right combines intelligent consultancy with a completely new and scientifically valid approach to make sure staff hours are spent at the right place, and at the right time. Combining modern thinking of people and business management, cutting edge mathematical programming together with powerful predictive modelling, they help businesses create the most efficient versions of their rosters. 

As an integral part of the team and business, you will have a Masters or PhD in the field of Operations Research (Mathematical Optimisation, Mixed Integer Programming) and have work experience in these areas. Ideally, you will come from a software development environment with proven programming and coding skills, having worked within industry in a commercial capacity. You will have deep experience in mathematical modelling around optimisation and will have the chance to utilise your mathematical knowledge within this commercial environment. 

Your main focus will include:

• Mathematical algorithm design, in particular Mixed Integer Programs and heuristic techniques
• Mathematical algorithm engine development
• Simulation/queue modelling
• End to End problem solving, solution design and development
• Liaison and presentations to clients and a variety of stakeholders
• Mentoring team members and providing strong leadership to foster collaboration and achieve collective objectives 

Skills and experience will include:

• Deep experience in mathematical modelling around optimisation
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead team members
• Previous experience using leading commercial Mathematical Programming solvers
• Masters or PhD (Research) in Operations Research
• Understanding and exposure to Statistics and/or machine learning
• Familiarity with Agile principles
• Exposure to Julia/Python programming
• An analytical mindset and high attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Previous exposure to workforce planning or workforce projects advantageous
